CONTEXT

The verses to blow the dust off were written one summer morning over several cups of espresso and a self-imposed challenge to write a song based on the results of the search query “hot tips to sell your home fast”. The chorus had been a back pocket idea for a few years and the two seemed to go together well in theme.

LYRICS

Listen as you read on Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music

I’m back on the market, for sale or for rent.

But there’s an active contingent, you can’t be playing pretend.

I’m tearing out all my carpet, and posting online ads,

But when I tried, I couldn’t qualify, for nothing near what I had asked.

Blow the dust off for the lady,

Can’t be showing signs of your age,

Because I’m getting back in the game.

(Yeah, he’s getting back in the game).

I’ve got these half empty closet, just like my agent recommends.

Organize to help them visualize, a place to store their odds and ends.

You know I don’t like the feeling, of letting strangers walk in.

Prying eyes, give reason to deny why they won’t take it as is.

Blow the dust off for the lady,

Can’t be showing signs of your age,

Because I’m getting back in the game.

(Yeah, he’s getting back in the game).

I should have never have started, showing to mutual friends.

I don’t reveal beyond the curb appeal, until you try my king size bed.

So if you want make an offer, for what you think it’s all worth.

Anonymous don’t want to know your number, I’d hate to have my feelings hurt.

Blow the dust off for the lady,

Can’t be showing signs of your age,

Because I’m getting back in the game.

(Yeah, he’s getting back in the game).

(You know, he’s getting back in the game again).
